John Sanchez Jr. - Founder, Writer, Editor
John is a recent Economics graduate from Baylor University. The founder of The Lefty Catcher, John is very passionate about his love for MLB and growing the game of baseball to a broad audience so everyone can enjoy the game we all love. The Rangers are his favorite team, but he mainly enjoys good baseball by fun players and is just happy he gets to watch baseball be played at the highest level its ever been played. His other hobbies include watching movies, playing basketball, and hanging out with his fiance and their dog, Woody.
Mitchell Barbee - Writer, YouTube Manager
Mitchell is a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan, but loves all the things that make baseball fun. He grew up in Boone, North Carolina, but currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan. If he's not watching the Atlanta Braves play (or overconsuming daily baseball news), he's working on creative non-fiction for the post calvin, hanging out with friends, bowling, watching YouTube, or trying to learn something new.
Erik Larsen - Writer
Erik recently graduated from The University of Arizona's Neuroscience PhD program. Originally from Modesto, California, Erik has been a life-long, die-hard Twins fan. He started in RF throughout his collegiate career at The University of Tennessee-Martin and CSU Stanislaus. When not in the lab or crunching data, Erik trains for and competes in triathlons, plays recreational soccer, and loves to golf. Erik is also a member of the Arizona Golf Association and the Society for American Baseball Research. He loves watching, listening to, and talking about sports, despite being a Twins, Vikings, and Arsenal FC fan. Erik recently obtained full-time employment with the Tampa Bay Rays as a Jr Data Analyst working in the R&D Department.
Michael Maynard - Writer
Michael recently graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville, earning a degree in Economics. He also has an Associates Degree from Waubonsee Community College, and is enrolling in the Policy Economics master’s program at University of Illinois this fall. A four-year college baseball player, Michael has always had a passion for writing and finding creative ways to talk about baseball. While interested in the paths of coaching and content creation, his goal is to work up to a decision making position in a baseball front office.
Outside of baseball, Michael enjoys writing about and following college football and basketball. A lifelong Cubs fan, ever since they peaked in 2016, he now simply hopes the Cubs can field a competitive roster. Other hobbies include praying and going to mass, reading, chess, and golfing.
Cameron Honaker - Prospect Writer
Cameron is a Sports Business Undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma. He is from Frisco, Texas and his favorite baseball team is the Texas Rangers. Cameron has been around baseball his whole life and is looking to make a career out of the game he is so passionate about. Cameron likes to focus on the scouting side of baseball and working on breaking down prospects. He likes to focus on amateur players and growing the channel of college baseball to fans. Outside of baseball he enjoys hunting, being outdoors, and being around anything related to sports. He is also a Trumpet player in the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band.
